Counseling

The certified, full-time counselor on staff at Widener Memorial coordinates and facilitates Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs), handles attendance concerns and coordinates and supports mental health initiatives.  The counselor works with students individually and in small groups on a variety of topics including peer pressure, conflict resolution, interpersonal communication skills and coping strategies in order to achieve optimal learning.

The counselor works with our high school-aged students on clarifying post-high school plans and helping to coordinate community resources that are available to students and their families to help students transition into positive post-school opportunities.

The counselor meets with parents and staff to assure that all of Widener Memorial School students reach their maximum potential.
