This year we are utilizing a pilot program, Pre-Employment Transition Services (P.E.T.S.) These services are required as part of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). They are designed to help students gain an increased understanding of their options after leaving high school. We have 3 providers: The Sierra Group, Liberty Resources, and CHOP. Students see their provider on a regular basis, depending on the provider’s schedule. The Sierra Group and CHOP instruct students through a 12 week curriculum covering self-advocacy, job readiness, and independent living skills. Additionally, both these providers can support students on an individual basis with job shadowing and work-based learning experiences. Liberty Resources focuses on the same services, and works with students on a biweekly schedule from October to May. All services must be pre-approved by the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR)
